Two things are happening this evening:
First, USA Entertainment, a national talent agency which represents such acts as The Impractical Jokers, has asked us to identify some of the area's best undiscovered talent. Ten of this area's best undiscovered comics will take our stage and have their sets videotaped to send to USA Entertainment.
Second, on January 23rd, Christa Goers was on her way home from work and encountered a stalled vehicle which she swerved to avoid. She was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital; then airlifted to another hospital with better trauma facilities.
Her immediate injuries were severe: a fracture of the neck at C2, a significant brain bleed, a severed popliteal artery, two fractured femurs and other broken bones.
Christa remains in the ICU. She is on a ventilator and is sedated until the pressure in her head will allow the doctors to stabilize her spine. Over the past few days, Christa has fought hard and has triumphed through countless hours of surgery to address her critical injuries, including having her right leg amputated above the knee. Over the coming weeks, Christa will undergo additional surgery to stabilize her neck/C2 injury and continue her recovery.
The proceeds from the box office this evening will be donated to Christa's family to help with her medical expenses.
Tickets will be available only at the box office.
